Here at Autolusso we understand that untidy wheels can ruin the look of an otherwise very clean looking car. This is why we are able to offer an alloy wheel refurbishment service that will make your old scuffed and kerbed wheels look like new again.
Our wheel refurbishment service is more than just applying a layer of fresh paint to make your wheels look pretty, as your wheels will be stripped of the old paint and lacquer (so they we are not going over any old paint or onto a rough surface). During the refurbishment process the wheels will be checked for buckles and cracked and repaired accordingly, see below for the full alloy wheel refurbishment process.
All prices are including VAT, but prices may increase depending on the condition of the car and related components. If any additional items are required, there will be an additional cost which will be explained to you before and after the work is carried out.

The process
- We remove the tyre, valve and any balance weights. The wheel is then put in a chemical tank which strips all the old paint from the wheel.
- The wheel is rinsed.
- The wheel is now checked for kerb damage and repaired using Hand tools, if required any deep gouge marks are filled with special high temperature alloy filler.
- The wheel is now is placed into an aqua blast cabinet. This process will key the wheel ready for the powder coat & primer and will also remove any contaminants from the surface of the wheel.
- The wheel is placed in the oven and is heated to 200 degrees for 25 minutes to degas the wheel and burn of any contaminants.
- Once the wheel has been de gassed the wheel is hot enough to have the powder coat primer applied. This process is done in a clean room with filtered roof panels to help reduce the chance of any unwanted containments being attracted to the wheel.
- Once the wheel has been primed it is then placed back in the oven for 20 minutes to allow the powder coat to flow out which will give a smooth flat surface to paint on.
- We now apply the base coat to the wheel.
- The wheel is now allowed to cool before we apply the powder acrylic lacquer. The wheel is then placed back in the oven for is final curing.
- Once the wheel has been cured it is the allowed to cool before we refit the tyre and balance the wheel.
- Once the wheel has been primed it is then placed back in the oven for 20 minutes to allow the powder coat to flow out which will give a smooth flat surface to paint on.
- We now apply the base coat to the wheel.
As well as making your wheels look like new again, we can also offer a colour change service. We understand this isn't for everyone, but it does make your car stand out from a crowd, especially if you go for bright orange or luminous yellow!
